Influence of polymorphism of glutathione S-transferase T1 on Chinese infertile patients with varicocele Wu Q, Xing J, Xue W, Sun J, Wang X, Jin X. To investigate the influence of glutathione S-transferase T1 (GSTT1) gene polymorphism on Chinese infertile patients with varicocele, 63 infertile patients with varicocele and 54 healthy fertile controls were recruited in this case-control study. Our results show that oxidative damage may be the cause of infertility in patients with varicocele, and GSTT1 null genotype predisposes to over oxidative damage to spermatocytes of infertile patients with varicocele.
